State Vision News Service Udhampur, Nov. 8 Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai today convened a meeting to review the physical and financial progress achieved in the implementation of PM SHRI Schools and the PM Jan Vikas Karyakram scheme in the district. The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh; Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh; Chief Planning Officer Mohd Iqbal; Assistant Commissioner Development Dr. Ranjeet Singh; Chief Education Officer and other departmental officers. At the outset, the Chief Education Officer presented a detailed report on the progress achieved in the saturation of 26 envisaged parameters by the PM SHRI Schools in the District. The DC called for optimal utilization of funds provided under the PM SHRI scheme to enhance infrastructure and meet the required standards. The DC highlighted the significance of Key Performance Indicators for the holistic development of schools. The nodal officers were asked to conduct field visits to designated PM SHRI Schools to assess progress across the scheme s parameters and monitor expenditure patterns. The DC urged the Divisional Forest Officer to prioritize the establishment of eco clubs in PM SHRI Schools. She also called on officers to expedite the setting up of Atal Tinkering Labs in these schools and instructed the District Youth Services and Sports Officer to allocate funds with priority to PM SHRI Schools.
The DC stressed achieving 100 saturation across all parameters of the PM SHRI scheme by the next financial year. DC emphasized the need to further elevate educational standards and infrastructure at PM SHRI Schools to foster a supportive learning environment. Special attention was directed toward ensuring essential amenities in schools, such as water facilities, functional laboratories, internet connectivity and electricity, to promote a conducive environment for learning.
